Expression of Interest

Orillia Area CDC is seeking applications to fill vacancies on its volunteer committees. 

The CDC provides counseling, training & funding to local businesses to support job creation, growth and innovation. We also work with many community partners on various community economic development projects to build an economy in Ontario’s Lake Country that is prosperous, growing and sustainable.

Ideal candidates will possess experience and/or an understanding of business development/management, economic/community development, business/financial analysis and/or entrepreneurship.

Volunteer roles are generally for a 3-year term beginning on July 1, 2023. (Although, the meeting schedule in July and August is very reduced.) The Investment Committee (loan review) generally meets twice per month, and all other committees meet once per month.

Interested individuals are invited to complete our Expression of Interest form. Please also submit a biography and/or resume with the form.

The Orillia Area Community Development Corp. (OACDC) is a not-for-profit corporation in the Province of Ontario, and as such is subject to the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) .

7. Under the act, to qualify as a Director of a not-for-profit corporation and throughout each Director’s term, the person must: not be an undischarged bankrupt; not have been convicted of a criminal offence involving fraud or moral turpitude.

If applying to become a Director of OACDC, please confirm that you qualify based on the above noted criteria.

If elected, you agree to immediately notify the General Manager and/or Chair of OACDC if at any time during your term as Director, you fail to meet the above requirements or otherwise become disqualified by virtue of ONCA.
