Orillia Area Community Development Corporation Hires New General Manager
Orillia Ontario, July 12, 2010 – Rick Dory, President of the Orillia Area Community Development Corporation (CDC) is pleased to announce the selection of Wendy Timpano as the new General Manager of the CDC. Wendy succeeds Donna Hewitt who departed the organization to join the Township of Oro-Medonte.
“We are grateful for the dedication Donna exhibited to the Corporation and communities served,” said Mr. Dory. “We are fortunate to have an individual with the skill set and experience Wendy brings to the table to take up a leadership role with the CDC.”
Wendy grew up in Orillia, graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts and complimented her studies with a post–graduate Public Relations Certificate from Humber College. She has extensive experience in the fields of project/event management, community relations, marketing and communications.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to broaden my experience while making a lasting and positive impact on our community,” said Mrs. Timpano. “I look forward to working with businesses in our area and on the community projects supported by the CDC.”
Wendy will be assuming her new duties with the CDC on August 16, 2010. “On behalf of the Board of Directors and all our volunteers I would like to welcome Wendy to the CDC family,” said Mr. Dory. “We are certain Wendy will have a positive long lasting impact on our organization.”
The CDC is a not-for-profit incorporated organization that provides small business financing and counseling services in addition to support for various community economic development initiatives in the City of Orillia, the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Severn and Ramara and to the Chippewas of Rama First Nation.
