Answer
There are no grants available to start up or expand a business.
However, there are assistance programs geared towards many types of businesses. For details, visit Canada Business. All the information is free of charge.
The Ontario government also offers some business incentives. For example:
- Ontario Self Employment Benefits Program (OSEB) provides unemployed people who are or have recently been eligible for Employment Insurance with income and entrepreneurial support while they develop and start their business.
- Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit provides a refundable tax credit for corporations and unincorporated businesses employing apprentices in certain skilled trades during the first 36 months of an apprenticeship program.
